Your data rights

Last updated 12 October 2026

Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and Irish data protection law, you have a number of rights over the personal data Swyft Software Limited, the company behind Swyft Signature, holds about you.

This page covers data we hold about you directly, for example because you sent us a message or you administer a Swyft Signature account. If you work for an organisation that uses Swyft Signature and your details reach us through its Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace directory, your organisation is the controller of that data, so please contact its IT administrator first. We will help them answer your request.

Your rights

Access (Article 15)

You can ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, how we use it and the legal basis for doing so.

Correction (Article 16)

If anything we hold about you is wrong or incomplete, you can ask us to correct it without undue delay.

Erasure (Article 17)

In certain circumstances you can ask us to delete your personal data, for example where we no longer need it for the purpose we collected it for.

Restriction (Article 18)

You can ask us to restrict how we use your data while you contest its accuracy, where the use is unlawful, or while an objection is considered.

Withdrawing consent (Article 7)

Where we rely on your consent, such as for analytics cookies on this website, you can withdraw it at any time, as easily as you gave it, using "Cookie settings" at the bottom of every page.

Objection (Article 21)

Where we rely on legitimate interest, you can object at any time. We will stop unless we can show compelling legitimate grounds.

Portability (Article 20)

Where we process your data by automated means on the basis of consent or a contract, you can ask for it in a structured, commonly used, machine-readable format.

How to make a request

Use our contact form, choose "Something else, including privacy requests", and tell us which right you want to use and enough detail for us to find your records.

  • Acknowledgement: within 72 hours.
  • Full response: within one month of receiving your request.
  • Complex requests: we may extend by up to two further months, and we will tell you why within the first month.

We may ask for proof of identity before acting on a request, to protect your data from anyone pretending to be you.

Supervisory authority

If you are not happy with our response, you can complain to the Data Protection Commission, the supervisory authority in Ireland: 21 Fitzwilliam Square South, Dublin 2, D02 RD28, or dataprotection.ie.
